Feather

ECC: REDLINE Athlete

Feather, known as 飞羽 (Feiyu) or Lin Yao in Chinese promotional material, is a shooting-sports competitor and rock climber whose abilities focus on vertical movement and fast repositioning.

Her kit combines two mobility tools with passive bonuses to gunplay, making her a flexible choice for players who want to move between firing positions without relying entirely on standard movement routes.

The kit

Feather’s abilities

Core Ability

Portable Zipline Device

Feather deploys a zipline that connects distant positions, allowing players to travel between them.

Unlike her personal grappling hook, the zipline also provides mobility for teammates. It can help a squad rotate between rooftops, cross exposed terrain, or approach a new position together.

The ability description does not identify the zipline as exclusive to Feather's team, so players should not assume opposing players cannot use a deployed line.

Tactical Ability

Tactical Grappling Hook

Feather fires a grappling hook to pull herself toward another position.

The hook can be used to reach high ground, change angles during a firefight, or disengage from an unfavorable position.

During our playtest, the grappling hook had a cooldown of approximately 45 seconds.

Passive Skill

Nimble as a Swallow

Feather receives two firearm-related bonuses:

  • +10% reload speed
  • +20% movement speed while aiming down sights (ADS)

The additional ADS movement speed is particularly useful for strafing during aimed gunfights, while faster reloading reduces downtime between engagements.

How to play Feather

Feather's main advantage is flexibility. Her grappling hook provides individual repositioning, while her zipline creates movement opportunities for the whole squad.

That makes her useful for taking elevated positions, changing the direction of an attack, or moving teammates away from exposed terrain.

Her kit should also appeal to players who prefer firing while moving rather than holding one position.

However, she is not a traditional defensive character. The documented kit does not provide a dedicated healing ability or deployable shield.

For additional movement mechanics, see our ECC: REDLINE movement guide.
