Roblox Rivals Guide: Modes, Weapons, Skins, Codes and Ranked

Roblox Rivals (also written RIVALS) is a free first-person shooter on Roblox built around fast duels, from 1v1 up to 5v5, where the first side to win five rounds takes the match. If you searched for Rivals Roblox or Roblox Rivals, this guide covers what players ask about most: game modes, weapons, keys and skins, the Nemesis rank, codes, textures, ranked play and how to improve.

Nosniy Games released the game in May 2024. It runs on desktop, phones, tablets, Xbox and PlayStation 5, and its Roblox page lists Best Shooter Experience awards for RIA25 and RIA26.

Not to be confused with Marvel Rivals, a separate game from NetEase, or with Blue Lock Rivals and Racket Rivals, which are different Roblox games with their own codes.

A match starts when you step on a duel pad in the lobby or press the Play button. Teams vote on a map, then play rounds until one side reaches five round wins. Duel pads match you against players in your own lobby, while the Play menu matches you across lobbies and lists every mode.

Our gameplay checks covered six standard modes, fourteen rotating modes and two event modes. Rotating and event availability changes over time.

One rotating slot changes daily and loops through the list, so a mode you miss comes back.

Every loadout has four slots: Primary, Secondary, Melee and Utility. You start with four free defaults, and everything else is unlocked with keys, bundles or special routes. Our weapon breakdown includes 53 entries.

Five of those entries are mode-only weapons that appear in RIVALS RNG or Gun Game, so the number you can actually buy is lower.

Weapons come in three types that mostly signal cost and unlock route.

• Standard. The normal pool, including the free defaults. Key costs run from 5 keys for Spray to 75 keys for the Sniper.
• Prime. Higher-cost weapons such as the Energy Rifle, Exogun and Medkit. Many cost roughly 200 to 550 keys, and some also appear in Robux bundles.
• Contraband. Special weapons with unusual mechanics or very high costs, such as Permafrost at 600 keys. Several are mode-only.

A few weapons use other routes. The Spear can come from a Season Pass, and the Jump Pad uses hidden Jump Shards instead of keys.

Build a loadout around the role of each weapon and how the slots work together.

• Pair a strong Primary with a Secondary that covers its weakness, such as a backup that never needs reloading.
• Use a Melee that adds movement or high-ground access, like the Scythe, if your Primary wants a vantage point.
• Pick a Utility that fixes your weakest moment, whether that is healing, cover or a trap.
• The free Assault Rifle is a strong all-round primary, so you do not need to rush an expensive purchase.

A setup you have practiced beats a flashier one that depends on timing you have not learned.

Keys are the main currency in Rivals. The official page says you earn keys to unlock new weapons, and contracts and codes add more. Cosmetics are a separate layer: Our catalog checks recorded 345 skins, 336 wraps, 176 charms, 95 finishers and 35 emotes. Cosmetic totals change with updates.

In-game routes for obtaining skins include: skin cases, the daily shop, the ranked Glory shop and Robux bundles. Skins are meant to be cosmetic, though some use different sounds or visuals that can affect how they feel to use.

Key skins are the most searched Rivals cosmetics, and the name is easy to misread. They are skins shaped like keys, not skins you buy with the key currency. They sit in the Mythical tier and come from the Legendary Key Bundle and the Ultra Key Bundle, which are Robux purchases. Owning keys does not unlock them.

The bundles rotate roughly every other update, and earlier skins are not included automatically. The Legendary Key Bundle was priced at 4,999 Robux when checked by Aim Sector, so check the shop before buying. As of Update 22, the Legendary bundle included the Enerkey Pistols and the Ultra bundle included the Enerkey Rifle.

The Knife is the only weapon with two key skins, and the Grenade is the only utility with one. Key skins from before Update 10 lack unique animations.

Nemesis is a ranked tier, not a weapon or skin. You reach it at 3,600 ELO in ranked mode, and it has no sub-tiers. Above it sits Archnemesis, which is limited to the top 200 players by ELO.

Nemesis is the practical ceiling of the ladder for most players. Players who finish a season as Archnemesis have received a mythical katana skin called the Arch Katana. The full ladder, with every ELO threshold, is in the ranked section below.

Rivals has no official texture-pack feature. When players talk about Rivals textures, they usually mean custom visual files applied to the Roblox client on a PC, most often through a third-party launcher called Bloxstrap. Popular examples include darker map visuals and lighter textures for smoother frame rates.

The Roblox client stores some core assets, such as textures, fonts and cursors, in local folders. Bloxstrap overlays your own files so they survive Roblox updates. It is a PC tool, so phones, tablets and consoles cannot use texture packs.

We found no Rivals-specific policy approving custom texture packs. The official game page states that cheating results in permanent bans. Do not treat a cosmetic modification as permission to gain an unfair advantage.

• Keep changes cosmetic. Anything that removes cover, hides map geometry or makes enemies easier to see could be treated as an unfair advantage.
• Download launchers only from the official project page. Never run installer files from video descriptions or comment links.
• Expect packs to break after Roblox updates.
• If you only want better visibility or frame rate, the in-game graphics and camera settings are the safe route.

Rivals codes give free keys, Community Wraps and occasional charms. Aim Sector checked the codes and rewards listed below in-game. Codes expire, so use them quickly, and enter them exactly as written because they are case-sensitive.

1. Open Rivals and click the Rewards button at the bottom of the screen.
2. Scroll to the bottom until you see the code box.
3. Type the code and click Redeem.

The Rewards button does not appear until you have played 10 duels. You also need to join the Nosniy Games Roblox group and click the Verify button above the code box. Following the developers on X and joining their Discord is recommended.

The developers release codes with updates on the Nosniy Games X account and in the game-codes channel of their Discord. Other Rivals games have their own codes, so a Blue Lock Rivals or Racket Rivals code will not work here.

Ranked is a separate mode with three queues: 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3. Every match adds or subtracts ELO, and you must finish 10 placement matches before a rank badge appears. Placement is capped at Diamond 1, around 2,500 ELO, so even strong players climb from there.

Our in-game checks found that ranked requires level 100, a verified account, 10 standard duels and 30 tasks.

Bronze through Onyx each have three sub-tiers in 200-point steps.

• Bans. Teams vote on a map and can ban weapons. The four defaults (Assault Rifle, Handgun, Fists and Grenade) cannot be banned unless every player owns enough weapons.
• Camera and aim. Third person is off, and aim assist is capped at 50 percent.
• Swaps. You can change weapons only twice per duel.
• Maps. Only a small pool of competitive maps is used.
• Win streaks. Casual win streaks are not broken by a ranked loss.

Below Platinum 1 you get one free ELO Shield per day, and it blocks the ELO loss from one defeat. From Onyx 1 upward, ELO decays by 100 per day after seven days without a ranked game. Leaving a match counts as a loss and locks you out of ranked queues for about 15 minutes.

Your final ELO and win count decide end-of-season rewards, and ELO converts into Glory currency for a dedicated shop. Past rewards included the Phoenix Rifle skin for 200 wins in Season 0. Seasonal rewards and rules can change between seasons.

There is no universal best setting, but the menu gives you plenty to tune. Rivals has three settings profiles, and you can copy and paste a whole profile or a single section such as your crosshair. On mobile, the profiles are linked to your touch-button layouts.

• Field of view. Normal FOV and scoped FOV are separate settings.
• Sensitivity. Four values interact: Roblox camera sensitivity, Rivals sensitivity, While Aiming and While Scoped. Change one at a time.
• Performance. Turn on the Optimized options in the performance menu, and use manual graphics on a slower PC.
• Mobile. Set up the layout editor before changing sensitivity, and treat Auto Shoot as a comfort option.

1. Start in the Beginner 2v2 queue, which is limited to low-win accounts.
2. Learn the free Assault Rifle before buying anything. It is a strong all-round primary.
3. Use Gun Game to learn how many weapons feel, since it pushes you through the whole ladder.
4. Practice pure mechanics in the Default Duel rotation, where everyone gets the same default loadout.
5. Spend keys on a weapon that fills a gap in your loadout, not on the most expensive item.
6. Finish contracts and redeem codes for extra keys.
7. Learn the maps. Large maps are mandatory from 3v3 up, and ranked uses a smaller competitive pool.

Cheating gets you banned, and this guide does not cover it. The official Rivals page says cheaters are permanently banned with no second chances, that anticheat and moderators will catch them, and that abusing glitches or using sketchy farming methods is also not allowed.

Free hack downloads also often carry malware that targets your account. The ranked requirements, such as a verified account and a high level, are meant to make returning after a ban expensive.

The only sanctioned exploits are in Easy Exploits, an April Fools joke mode with built-in aim help for everyone. If you suspect a cheater, use Roblox's report tool.

Rivals is built around short, round-based duels and a ranked ladder, which makes it very different from most other Roblox shooters.
